WIC Breastfeeding Peer Helper
The Ottawa County Health Department is seeking a qualified individual to fill a part time position in the Ottawa County WIC Program. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining ongoing contact with pregnant and breastfeeding WIC participants, offer information to the participant concerning how to tell if baby is getting enough milk, how to make milk, how to return to work or school, how to wean and normal infant behavior. The Peer Helper will make referrals to the WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator, provide counseling and education to WIC participants, issue breast pumps and assist with clinics.
