Ottawa County Senior Home Care Program
The Senior Home Care Program is available to anyone 60 years of age or older who is living in a home setting and needs assistance in order to remain safely at home.
The Ottawa County Home Care Assistance Program is available to Ottawa County residents 60 years and older who live in a home setting. To qualify, seniors must have a need for personal care assistance in order to live independently. The Ottawa County Home Care Assistance program is funded by the Ottawa County Senior Levy. Assistance limits are capped at $200 per month per client.
Ottawa County Senior Resources contracts with several agencies to provide personal care services that may include:
Personal hygiene and grooming assistance or supervision; nail & skin care; oral hygiene care; assistance with toileting; active and passive range of motion; assisting client in the use of assistive devices such as walker or cane.
Services may also include the following as time permits:
¨ Cleaning bathroom including the tub or shower, sink, toilet, floor and mirror.
¨ Changing bed linens and washing, drying, folding and putting away clean linen or towels.
¨ Kitchen care including washing dishes, appliances and counters.

Ottawa County Transportation Agency
The Ottawa County Transportation Agency is a general public transit system that provides curb-to-curb, advanced reservation, shared ride service to anyone in Ottawa County who wants transportation for any reason.
Family Caregiver Support
It is estimated that 80% of all care provided to older adults is provided by family members. Family caregivers therefore play a critical role in the lives and well being of our area's seniors. Family Caregiver Support provides information, referral, temporary respite services, and some supplemental services to caregivers of older persons in Ottawa County, Ohio.

One of the nation's largest providers of home-based care for older persons and their caregivers. AoA's mission is to develop a comprehensive, coordinated and cost-effective system of long-term care that help elderly individuals to maintain their dignity in their homes and communities.
Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio Chapter
Their mission is to enhance the quality of life of all persons affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders through compassionate, comprehensive services, effective advocacy, support of research, and access to current information and resources.

Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio
The Area Office on Aging provides you and your loved ones with the quality services that allow you to be as independent as possible, empowering you to live your life to the fullest. Search for available services on their website.
National Council on the Aging
Programs to help older people to remain healthy, find jobs, discover new ways to continue contribute to society after retirement, and take advantage of government and private benefits programs that can improve the quality of their lives.
Ohio Department of Aging / Golden Buckeye
Helps mature adults live active, healthy and independent lives through programs like the well-known golden buckeye card
. Home and community-based services that help frail individuals remain in their own homes and support consumers of long-term care are provided.
Social Security Administration
Retirement, disability and survivors benefits to workers and their families. Administer of the Supplemental Security Income program. Issues social security numbers.
