Transportation Program Overview

The mission of the Ottawa County Veterans Service Commission is to provide medical transportation to Ottawa County veterans. To qualify for this assistance, the applicant must have a medical appointment at a Veterans Affair Medical Center (VAMC) or Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Eligible Residents & Stops

Transportation for medical reasons shall be provided for veterans who are residents of the Ottawa County for over 90 days, without regard to financial need, to the following Veterans Administration facilities serving Ottawa County veterans:

  • CBOC Parma
  • CBOC Sandusky
  • CBOC Toledo
  • VAMC Ann Arbor
  • VAMC Wade Park

If the Veterans Administration refers a veteran to a treatment facility other than that listed-above, medical transportation may be provided.

Transportation shall also be provided for veterans who honorably served during a wartime era and are residents of Ottawa County for over 90 days, without regard to financial need, to Ohio State Veterans' Homes:

  • Sandusky, Ohio
  • Georgetown, Ohio
